The dub premiered on January 30th, 2006, on Nickelodeon Deutschland with the episode "Der Piratenschatz". Distribution The series was distributed on home video by Paramount Home Entertainment in 2010 and by JustBridge Entertainment from 2011 until 2013. Only episodes from the first season were released. Trivia In season 1, episodes 6-10 as well as episodes 13 and 16, Soraya Richter performed her dialogue exclusively, rather than her musical vocals, which were sung by an unknown understudy. In episode 19, Richter returned to perform Tasha's musical vocals once again for the rest of the series. For unknown reasons, Soraya Ricther left Tasha's introduction line in the intro from the first 2 seasons, while the other four cast members re-recorded their respective character's introduction lines. The vocal portion of the theme song wasn't re-recorded for the third and fourth seasons. Text in an early commercial for Die Hinterhofzwerge reads, "Backyardigans © 2000-2004 Viacom International Inc." This is an error, as the copyright for the series was filed in late-2003. Small animals are referred to as "dwarves" in German. The characters never refer to themselves as "hinterhofzwerge." This is the second dub to have a character's name in an episode title (besides "Pablor and the Acorns"), the first is the French dub. For this dub, it's Tasha in "Teestunde bei Tasha" and Austin in "Austino, das Gespenst, and for French it's Tyrone in "Théo le détective".
