Dave Palmer Occupation Director Role Animation director Dave Palmer (credited as David Palmer until "Who Goes There?") is the animation director of The Backyardigans. Biography Palmer has been involved in numerous other Nick Jr. productions, including Blue's Clues, Blue's Room, Wallykazam!, and Shimmer and Shine. Palmer earned a BFA in Film, Photography and Visual Arts at Ithaca College in 1991. In 1996, he received his MFA in Film Animation after studying traditional animation at New York University.
