Nickelodeon is a cable television channel owned by Viacom. It was the first American television network aimed at children.

Nickelodeon was the main producer and broadcaster for The Backyardigans.


  • Nickelodeon - The network's main channel. The Backyardigans aired on this channel from 2004 until 2013.
    • Nick Jr. - A preschool block that airs on Nickelodeon every weekday morning. Outside of special primetime events, The Backyardigans usually aired during this block.
  • Nick Jr. Channel - A 24-hour channel based on the Nick Jr. block. The Backyardigans aired on this channel until 2018.
  • Nick HD - A high-definition simulcast feed of Nickelodeon.
  • Nick Jr. HD - A high-definition simulcast feed of the Nick Jr. Channel.
  • Nick 2 - A repackaged version of Nickelodeon for alternate time zones.
  • Nick On Demand - The network's video-on-demand service.
  • TeenNick - A channel targeted at adolescents.
  • Nicktoons - A channel that prominently features animated television series.
  • TV Land - A channel targeted at adult audiences, based on Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite block.
  • Noggin - A brand that began as a joint venture between Viacom and Sesame Workshop. Since 2015, Noggin has been a streaming service. In June 2015, The Backyardigans was added to the Noggin streaming app.
