Tropical Fish Names Unknown Species Fish Genders Male and female First appearance "Into the Deep" The tropical fish are minor characters in The Backyardigans. Description The tropical fish are sea creatures living in the ocean. In "Into the Deep", mermaids Uniqua and Tasha come across a fish swimming by their garden and mistake it for an intruder. After trying to tell it to leave, it doesn’t work, (possibly because the fish doesn’t understand them). They use the "Mermaid Freak-Out" to blow the fish away. Looks The tropical fish are yellow with gray-black stripes. They have long dorsal fins on their heads and large eyes. Appearances The tropical fish appear in one episode of The Backyardigans: "Into the Deep" from season two. They also appear in the Quest for the Extra Ordinary Aliens and Sea Deep in Adventure performances.
